Brian Uher

Brian Uher has developed methods for incorporating return-on-investment with standard energy modeling and auditing techniques to quantify and extend the value of intelligently applied sustainable building techniques. Brian has spoken widely to the real estate and development communities with a focus on a market-based approach to selling green and high performance building. Recent experience includes residential design that includes rainwater harvesting for domestic use and high performance building envelopes. Recent experience in site plan analysis includes engagements with Econsult Corporation on the Catawba County Thread Trails green space project and the Delaware River City Corporation green space property valuation project. His past experience includes project management in both the construction and architectural consulting industries. He holds a masters degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Engineering and the Wharton School of Management, holds a master's of science degree in molecular biology from the University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Chicago. Brian is a LEED accredited professional, HERS certified, BPI analyst and envelope professional and teaches the Green Remodeling course for the Washington DC chapter of National Association of the Remodeling Industry. He is also a certified Passive House Consultant (residential and commercial standards), the most rigorous performance standard available today.

He served as a member of the sustainable design advisory board for the Portland Cement Association; is an active member of AIA's Washington, DC Committee on the Environment; and is a member of the Urban Land Institute. He is a past board member of Community Forklift in Edmonston, MD and former member of GreenHome, an affordable housing organization based in Washington, DC.

Lawrence Nightingale

Lawrence Nightingale is a dedicated energy professional, and a certified Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) apprentice with five years of field experience.

As a scholarship athlete, Lawrence graduated from the University of Richmond with a Bachelor of Arts in 1995. He graduated from the University of Virginia with a Master's Degree in Education 1997. Lawrence has also matriculated from the Student HVAC Trade Master's program sponsored by Fairfax County in 2009.

Lawrence has earned his Accreditation from the United States Green Building Council (USBGC) as a LEED AP (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design- Accredited Professional). Lawrence has earned his certification from North American Technical Excellence (NATE), NATE Certification confirms real working knowledge of HVAC systems. Lawrence's advanced degrees and technical training are a very unique. There are a limited number of professionals that are qualified to understand the importance of the crucial interaction between homeowners and the mechanical/residential systems that keep them comfortable, healthy and safe.
